About

West Hampstead Women’s Centre has been helping women in the London Borough of Camden since 1984. We aim to empower women emotionally, socially, and economically and encourage them to fulfill their potential. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive and flexible space for women to meet where they can access services for their health, personal development, safety, skill based education, holistic therapies and support them in crisis.

We bring communities together, actively encouraging social cohesion and integration. For many women just walking into the Centre can be a big step, but once they are here they know that it is a safe space where they will find help and a warm welcome. In return, they become part of the Centre’s family and that sense of belonging helps them to contribute to community life. The Centre is open to women from all communities.

In 2017 we were absolutely delighted to receive The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service! This award was created by The Queen in 2002 to mark the occasion of her Golden Jubilee, recognising excellence in voluntary activities carried out by groups in the community. It is the MBE for volunteer groups.
