West Hampstead Women's Centre wins The Queen's Award For Voluntary Service - The MBE for Volunteer Groups!

We recently won The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service 2017 in recognition of the outstanding work of our staff and volunteers.

Throughout our history, West Hampstead Women’s Centre has relied on volunteers to support the centre’s development. Several of our current volunteers have been with us for a number of years and our volunteers offer a range of skills which complement the expertise of our paid staff. Many of our activities and services are delivered by volunteers and they provide support which enhances everything we do.

We are very proud that our centre has been recognized with the QAVS Award.

Writing about West Hampstead Women’s Centre, The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service Team noted:

“The work your group does for the community was very much admired by the independent Assessment Committee, chaired by Sir Martyn Lewis CBE and I am delighted to inform you that your group has been selected as a recipient for The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) 2017. The award of The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2017 represents a tremendous achievement for your organisation. We hope that everyone involved, and particularly your volunteers, feel immensely proud of the recognition that this Award represents.”

We are honored to receive this recognition of the valuable work we carry out to help women in our community and we are very grateful to all of our wonderful volunteers and staff for their dedication and hard work!
